
The Anniversary Trophy – Sunday 19th June

A great number of activities were available to make it a enjoyable day to all.

There was a golf driving range with dart board target.

A Bowling football net to challenge your bowling aim
A wooden puzzle to challenge your dexterity and patience

The Bowling continued with the two Semi Finals played by David Hensby versus David Wright and John Hawnt versus Tommy Donald

After a hard fought game , David Hensby won through.

Congratulations to David and thank you to Andrew Walker for presenting the trophy and organizing the day.

After the final , Brenda Hensby and Helen Walker, helped by the ladies presented a wonderful buffet for all who attended.
Hope everyone enjoyed the day and thank all the people who put some hard work in to make it a fantastic day.

Clock Bowls Compitition
On a magnificent summers day the Clock Bowls comp comprised of each round of a 20 minute match with the highest score at the end progressing through to the next round. After some great bowling the two players left where Andrew Walker and Tony Hatton in the Final.
A very hard fought game ended in a victory of 8-7 to Andrew.

The Clock Bowl Trophy was presented by the steward of the day Brenda Hensby who thanked all who played and attended on the day.
Bridlington Bowling Club Merit Sunday 19th June
On a beautiful summers day, 48 players attended the summer merit at Brid Bay B C . The green got faster as the sun shone all day and players found it quite tricky . The four players fought through to the semi final were Larry Dixon from Westgate BC, Geoff Watson and Jo Leeman from Whitby B C and Jacky Turner from Brid Bay B C .

In the final were G Watson and J Leeman with G Watson winning 21-9

Sunday 17th May
Ladies RoseBowl and the Dolphin Bowl Competition
In mostly good weather ,the semi and finals of the the ladies RoseBowl and the Gents Dolphin Bowl was played in good spirit.
After some excellent games Lynne Humpleby and Shirley Dolphin won through to the final with Lynne gaining a win.

In the men’s Dolphin Bowl Graham Knott played Albert Beggs in the final. An enthralling game came down to 20-20 with the last end on a measure. This was won by a inch by Albert Beggs.

May Day Mini Cup
In the second of the competition of the year at Bridlington Bay bowling club the weather forecast threatened to spoil the day. Fortunately it was reasonable most of the time. Progressing to the semi final were
Pete Hancock v Tommy Donald and Graham Knott v Albert Beggs
Tommy and Graham won through to the final with Tommy claiming his second victory of the season.

has passed away
He was a Staunch supporter for the club over many years.
Our thoughts are with Eileen and her family
The Funeral is on Tuesday 19th May at Barnsley Crematorium ( S715EH ) at 12-50pm
Afterwards is at Shawlane Cricket Club ( S70 6H2 )
Bridlington Bay Presidents Salva
It was a beautiful day to hold the Presidents salva Semi final and Final on Sunday 19th April .
Albert Beggs played Julie dale in the first semi. After a very close game Albert won through to the Final.

Followed by Andrew Walker and Tommy Donald in the second Semi . Also a tight fought game with Tommy winning through to the final .
A great final that swung back and forward with tommy winning 21-16


The Trophy was presented to Tommy by the president Irene Hancock

It was wonderful to see so many members come and support the players on a very enjoyable day.
Presidents First Bowl and Presidents Salver Competition First Round
A Warm welcome was extended to all who attended the opening event of the new season by the president Irene bowling the first bowl. 
It was then followed by the first round of the Presidents Salver competition which was well attended with a small buffet provided and some good bowling with some very close matches .

The invited guests where Allan and Barbra Bambrook from Dukes Park B C and Larry Dixon from Westgate B C. Once again the North Star presented a great selection on their menu and excellent service from the staff and we hope all who attended enjoyed the day.
After the meal the lady president thanked all for coming and hoped all enjoyed their food.

Men Vesus Women Competition
Sunday was the club competition “ Men V Women” named the “ Jackdaw Trophy “.
This competition is on behalf of past member “Shirley Graves” who worked tirelessly to raise money for many charities over many years.
In a good weather the draw was made and the battle commenced.

All went well early for the women with numerous wins forging ahead. The men rallied and with wins towards the end just managed to take the trophy. The Trophy was presented to the winning captain Graham Knott by Leo Graves in memory of Shirley.

We would like to thank the hard work from the organisers and members who helped make the day a success. A very big thank you to the caterers Christine Knott and Brenda Hensby for the outstanding Buffet presented after the Match.

The Annual Mayors Jack and stand charity match played against the three teams in Bridlington, this year was battled out at Bridlington Bay Bowling Club. A team of twelve from Bridlington Bay BC, Dukes Park BC and Westgate BC ascended on Sewerby park to play in glorious weather on Saturday 13th September starting at 10-am.
The Mayor Angela Walker and her consort Graham Walker were invited to present the trophy to the winning team.
The Raffle which raised £110 was presented to the mayor for her charity by Bridlington Clubs president Irene Hancock , Her charity this year is The Neurone Disease Yorkshire Coast Group
The competition was won by Dukes Park Bowling Club with the final scores of
Dukes Park 18 wins –Bridlington Bay 14 wins – Westgate 4 wins
The Trophy was presented to Dukes Park Captain Alan Bambrook by the Mayor
There was some wonderful bowling from all the clubs and a good atmosphere all day and well done Dukes Park.

A very enjoyable weekend at Brid Bay Bowling Club with our visitors from Hickleton and Frickley Bowling Clubs.

They joined the weekly BowlsDrive on Friday and played against a Brid Bay club members on Saturday. With the continued beautiful weather they finished on a Caribbean tour of the green with a doubles competition between all there group. We hope all enjoyed the weekend and hopefully look forward to next year.

The Autumn Cup
Competition
The Autumn Cup played in brilliant sunshine on Sunday had some close games and eventually came down to the semi finals.

Peter Hancock won against Tony Hatton 21-17 and Tommy Donald won 21-11 against Roger Lambert.

On a fast green a hard fought final eventually came down to Peter Winning 21-12.

A very enjoyable day with lovely weather and some great bowling.

The first semi final with Peter Hancock versus David Wright was won by David 21- 17 and the second Graham Oates versus Bill Preston was won by Graham 21-7

Clock Bowls Trophy
The Clock Bowls Competition played on Sunday 15th June is a interesting twist on a normal comp.
Each game in the Draw is played for twenty minutes ,starting and finishing on the whistle. The highest score after that time wins. If there is a draw after the time, a blind jack is sent by the referee and each player with one bowl wins with the nearest to the jack .
After a interesting afternoon , the final pair Lyne Humpleby and Graham Knott battled it out finishing 9 points each.

After the Bowl off Lyne came out the winner.

16 members played for the Mini Cup On a lovely sunny Sunday this week.

The four players who progressed to the semi final were John Oxley playing Tommy Donald and Lynne Humpleby playing Pete Hancock

Through to the final was Lynne Humpleby and John Oxley
a very competitive final finished with John Oxley winning 21- 12

Presidents Salva Competition
Sunday 13th April
The first Club Competition of the season was played in reasonable weather this Sunday. The comp was handicapped to give all players of different abilities more chance of progressing through the comp.
Through to the Semi finals were
Bill Burnside and Tommy Donald / John Oxley and Brian Barber
There was some very good bowling from all players with Bill and John progressing to the final
Both players played well and a very close game was won by Bill 21 – 18

The Weather was kind for the traditional presidents first bowl. As the first ever lady president of Bridlington bay bowling club ,Irene thanked all those who attended the event and wished everyone a healthy , enjoyable and successful seasons bowling. This was followed by a small buffet,tea and coffee followed by a friendly Bowlsdrive

A friendly comp of 8 singles match and 4 Doubles . A great day was had with good bowling from both sides ,light refreshments and a light buffet added to a brilliant day
