We welcome many visitors to the green, either as members or other Crown Green Bowling Clubs within the area .

Other Club members, within the Scarborough District, visit the green to take part in many of the scheduled League Games held on Monday and Tuesday evenings, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons,  Saturday afternoons when a warm welcome is extended to all players and supporters alike.

Members of the public are made very welcome too and are invited to experience the game of Crown Green Bowling , with a little tuition if necessary, for a nominal fee for an hours bowling at certain times during the year. We have a large selection of crown green bowls, which you can loan, plus a ‘jack’, included within the charge. All we ask is that you wear flat soled shoes as shoes with hard raised heels cause damage to the playing surface of the green.

The Club also hosts a number of ‘Open Merits’ when competitors from around Yorkshire compete in these open competitions on their ‘playing merit’; trophies and prizes are awarded to the winners.

The Bridlington Bay Bowling Club also boasts a small 18 hole Putting Green and a small fee for a round will provide you with a putter and golf ball, plus a score card for those wishing to keep a record of their scores.

The Bowling and Putting Greens are lovingly cared for by a number of dedicated members who ensure that they are fed, watered and trimmed to perfection throughout the playing seasons. It is therefore imperative that the playing surface of the bowling green is treated with great respect. It is, therefore, essential that young children are supervised by an adult.

After admission into the Sewerby Hall & Grounds simply follow the footpath across the front of The Hall to the seaward side of the wall and beside the grassed areas. The footpath will eventually lead you to the Bridlington Bay Clubhouse  here you will be made most welcome.

The Bowling Green that you see today, measuring 40yds x 40yds with a 10″ crown, was first opened in 1949. The Bridlington Bay Bowling Club was established in 1977 by a small number of enthusiasts who negotiated with the then owners of the Sewerby Hall & Grounds, the East Yorkshire Borough Council, a 99 year lease for the Green and associated Clubhouse building,

The Club also boasts a small Putting Green, an ideal place for children and adults to test their skills for a small fee.
Since 1977 the club has grown enormously with a current membership of around 65 Full & Social Members. Today the Club is represented in a number of League Matches against other Crown Green Bowling Clubs, within the Scarborough & District, at Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Hunmanby and two other Crown Green Bowling Clubs in Bridlington.

League Matches are played on various days and evenings through the summer months from April to September with the Club be
ing represented in the Evening Singles, Evening Doubles, Saturday and Over 60’s Leagues.

New members are always welcome and a Membership Application form can be obtained from the Club Secretary.
