A Bridlington sports club has been targeted by thieves yet again.
Many thanks to al those who shared my message about the Garden/Park benches stolen from Westgate Bowling Club. We now know that some mindless morons have burned them to a crisp in the woodland adjacent the pavilion.
Perhaps we should just be happy that the whole woodland didn’t go up in smoke.
Perhaps those of you in the Bridlington area in particular could share this. Perhaps some parent can remember their little darling coming home on Wednesday 3 June smelling like a bonfire!!!
Westgate’s Original Message
Volunteers at Westgate Bowling Club, which is based in the Old Town , discovered several of their garden type benches which are used by spectators, had been stolen.
Club members and volunteers regularly undertake frequent security checks at the clubhouse and around the grounds when it is not open for bowling matches and practice sessions.
A member at the club said: “They have stolen six garden benches, all 3-seater size.”
This is the second time in a matter of weeks that the club has been targeted by thieves.
“Please circulate this message – particularly around the Bridlington area. I will personally offer a reward for information leading to the conviction of the those involved and/or safe return of the benches.” the club member continued.
“The reward is likely to be more than the thieves get for selling the benches.” He added.
If you saw anything or have any information please call the police on 101.
