SAFEGUARDING
Crown Green Bowls, along with all other bowls codes, has embraced the need for safeguarding arrangements at all levels of the game.
Intended to protect young people and vulnerable adults, safeguarding also seeks to prevent and protect against bullying.
The following statement sums up this policy:
There is 100 per cent commitment to ensure that bowls clubs provide a safe, caring and friendly environment for all bowlers regardless of their age, background or any other characteristic.
Bullying in bowls will not be tolerated
Your club’s Safeguarding Officer’s contact details should be displayed in your clubhouse and any concerns about safeguarding, including bullying, should be notified to them in the first instance.

COMMUNICATION ROUTES
A reminder about the levels and means of raising matters of concern within the Association:

• Along with safeguarding, any other issues that individuals wish to take up, should first be raised within their club.

• If a matter needs to come to the Management Committee, our operational policy asks that any issues for its attention should be addressed via clubs, not individuals.

• The Association has in place a Code of Conduct which sets out the standards of behaviour expected in any bowls-related activity in this area.

• Allied to this is a separate policy on Disciplinary Matters, which includes a right of appeal to YCCGBA & BCGBA should the need arise.
It is only under these of circumstances that matters should be addressed outside the Association
FOOTWEAR ON THE GREEN
A recent change has been made to the British Crown Green Bowling Association ruling on footwear. It no longer bans sandals as suitable footwear, but open-toed footwear is still prohibited on the green
