In The Begining – Part 5 – 1991

A superb performance by Bridlington Bay bowlers Henry Richardson and Gerald Bromley brought the Scarborough and District Rose Bowl to Bridlington bay for the first time

Nine clubs from Scarborough and District Bowling association entered the Finals at Westgate B.C.

Starting at 10-00 am,36 players considered to be the association best , competed for the Rose Bowl Doubles Trophy. After five tremendous and hard-fought matches Henry Richardson and Gerald Bromley emerged winners.

In the semi-Final they looked dead and buried after trailing 19-12 to Robin hood opponents Richard Wood and Sqib Wilson. But Bridlington pair , with some excellent bowling, pulled off a well deserved win – well appreciated by the crowd of spectators.

Eastfields Nigel Trotter and Graham Forster entered the final favourites but despite the Eastfield pair gaining a early lead,Henry Richardson and Gerald Bromley produced some excellent bowling to the spectators delight and achieved a notable victory

      • I keep in touch with Shiela Dyson and see Alan Standing during our winter bowling in the west riding , I probably don,t know many who bowl there now but wish you all a good season. best wishes. Gerald Bromley.
